Small sample of what I shot this morning. Couldn't spend all day there, but I easily could have!

Some of those pics turned out really cool. How difficult is it to take pictures of objects in motion? I don't really have a lot of experience with that, mostly I try to do still shots.

It just takes some practice. Keeping the focus point in one spot while moving the camera smoothly is about all it takes. Gotta be smooth though. It can be done even with a point-n-shoot, just practice. I'm still not too good at it. Only shot motorsport stuff twice now.

Thanks! Nah, thought about driving it up though. Drove my Mountaineer instead. I was afraid that if I drove the Mustang I might find myself emptying my wallet to get it on the track :D

Thanks guys! Still learning and need some longer glass, or access inside the snow fence :) 200mm wasn't cutting it (IMO) and my 1.4x teleconverter was on loan (doh). Will be picking up something longer soon though.

Still, the best part is watching the cars go around the track. Found myself just watching instead of taking pics many times. Some people out there hauling ass, that's for sure! Doing that takes more skill than clicking a damn shutter button. :thumbsup

For as much as im not into this corner carving stuff, those are pretty cool pics! Nice to see my work sponsor's that place too yet hahah

Alot of it looks like scenes right out of forza or a brochure.

Just access in the snow fence :) Alot of my shots were with the 300 2.8IS and if you were using a 70-200 on a 1.6 crop body you were already at 320, 450mm with the 1.4 extender.

You might want to consider the 100-400 f/4-5.6 IS, some of my shots were with that and it worked really well. If you can get used to the push/pull zoom it is a great track lens and what I plan on using at this coming weekend's air show.

Figured being closer would help. RA can be well shot with only a 200mm on a crop body and being inside the fence :)

I'm really waiting to see some test results on Sigma's new 120-400 OS and 150-500 OS to see how they fare. If the 120-400 does well against Canon's 100-400 I might go that route. Also looking at the Canon 400mm f/5.6 as another potential purchase...so, we'll see. Gotta get a Sigma 10-20 first though since our trip to Europe is coming up in less than 2 months.

I may just rent a 100-400 and give it a shot though; thanks for the advice. Haven't tried the push pull, so it's probably worth trying. :thumbsup

Thanks! No, don't think it's Marv's car unless he made some changes. Last I remember, it had chrome wheels. I did see 3 cars with his stickers on them though :)
