Look at the comments. Why is it every time a car video is posted on youtube it turns into a sand vag argument?

i wanna see what that thing will run when it actually hooks.

IMO - I'm not a fan i think it is kind of a waste. Also why did he put a Solid axle in the back? the IRS holds just fine at 1500WHP? huh i geuss what ever you gotta do to a camaro you gotta do to a Toyota to make it fast huh?

I'm guessing the solid axle conversion is just better in most respects for drag racing. The v8 will make more torque than the 2jz so strength may be an issue. Another plus is the endless gear ratios available.

Most of the import drag racers run oem irs setups because of class restrictions, not because it is a superior setup to the good ole solid rear end.

Cool car!

Aside from strength, wheel hop may be an issue (like I mentioned).

But yeah a turbo small block V8 is a torque monster. Though not as bad as nitrous big block =P

The motor came out of a low 7s outlaw 10.5 car and is making more than 2000hp. I really don't think that Supra IRS is up to snuff behind a real motor. :D

oh damn, see ya learn something new every day.

Justa question then.

IF the setup was ALREADY in something that was proven on a 10.5 tire why would you put it in a heavier car? any real times from it yet?

People move on and try different stuff. Buying a motor like this used is far cheaper than building one new. :thumbsup

Here are some more pics of the car. Fox Body Mustang owners should find the rear suspension very interesting! :D

I think he bought more of a motor than he knows. I guess the guy he bought it from is Jason Newsham(sp?). The car it came out of went 7.teens @ over 200mph.

Supra's are pretty cool in my book...even the NA ones. Still would prefer a late 80's/early 90's or even a mid 80's with a SBC conversion...

its really cool but why start with such an expensive roller only to cut it up anyways when you could buy an f-body or similar and cut it up for a LOT cheaper
