Nürburgring at an incredible, if not simply unbelievable, 7:25 per lap. This, according to bystanders trackside. (For comparison, Walter Röhrl lapped the Ring in 7:28 while driving a Porsche Carrera GT in 2004.)

Said it once

GT-R > ZO6
V-Spec > ZR1

haha what now? lol

from what i have heard this will be going into production sometime next year, still unclear if it will reach the states, but seeing the sucess the GT-R has been having i bet they will bring a few here.

yeah great.

Bugatti Veyron > V Spec

indy car > v spec

the car won't make it here in any kind of significant numbers. what good is a car if you can't get it? it took over 10 years for Skylines to get to this country, and they were only attainable through a shoddy company like MotoRex. when you can walk your happy ass into the dealer and say "here is XXXXXX dollars, i want a V-Spec" and they do it. then i'll be impressed.

Just wait till Audi releases the R8 with the twin turbo V10 from the RS6. That engine already produces 570 hp and is rumored to be tuned up for the R8.

"The 4 Rings of Satan Prevail..."

edit: the R8 weighs about 800 lbs less than the GTR.

So you don't like any car you can't afford? i know damn well i will most likely never be able to afford a new Z06/ZR1/GTR/VSpec/Etc... But it's funny ever new GTR thread all the Z06/Domestic guys get all ZR1 happy...

The ZR1 hasnt had a pro driver take it around the sidewalk track yet.

http://www.badboyvettes.com/

"The 2009 ZR1 started testing at the Nürburgring at the beginning of this month, and edmunds.com has some video of it on the track.

In the video they say unofficial times were taken as low 1:40s, but we're going to assume they mean 7:40s because in the text they mention the Nissan GTR getting an unofficial 1:38 (which was really 7:38).

The 505HP Z06 maxed out at 7:42.9 back in 2005 with Jan Magnussen behind the wheel, so it stands to reason that the 620HP ZR1 will be able to beat the crap out of that time with its updated suspension components and added downforce.

Jan and Johnny O were in Florida last week for the ALMS race at St Pete, so the video Edmunds has is just the GM engineers getting a baseline down at the ring. Two weeks separate St Pete's and Long Beach... where are they now? All we know is that the car is going to be heavier on the left without a passenger, so if they need some ballast we call shotgun."

seems like it won't need that much to beat the ZR1, either way, the Vspec and ZR1 are amazing cars and I'm not sure why there's such a huge debate over it

cause damn near every V8/Domestic guy has always had the not as fast as our LS1 can't beat a Vette. and now on the cover of the new Road and track it says the GT-R SPANKS the 911 turbo and the Z06 and now there coming for that ZR-1. I love the fact the new V-Spec has that Carrera GT covered at the ring as well! :headbang

Thats about it.... Besides how many people in the states with either car are gonna be racing eachother on the ring?

Probably see a handful show up at road america with amateurs driving them and may even get the chance to play with one on the street.

Who cares about lap times? They are both factory race cars and be glad that auto makers are in a power/performance war again... its like re living a new-school 60's right now.

Here ya go...
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=122513

This is an older report about the twin turbo V10 Audi R8 back when the 5.2L engine was not slated to be used for the RS6. Currently, the engine is producing 580 hp in the RS6. Some say that the engine will be toned down while others say more boost will be added. naturally aspirated, the 5.2 makes 505 hp. Audi also seems to make cars that run at 7psi.
505 x 1.5 = 757.
I doubt that they will shoot for that much power, but it will definitely be faster than the Gallardo.

I'm going to bet that Audi will add more boost and push it past 600. I'll mention that the R8 currently weighs alot less than the GTR and Quattro is one hell of an AWD system.

It might also be named the "R10" because of the engine.

R8/R10 > GTR V-spec
