Today i went try and get parts to fix my wifes POS 2000 kia sportage. I had to get parts from a dealership because no one else sells anything for this junk. the problem is a grinding/clicking sound coming from the frontend and 4 wheel drive is not working. so im thinking new hubs $200 maybe : no not so lucky. the guy at the parts desk tells me if i havent had a axel kit put in by there dealership in the last 6 years they will not sell me the new hubs($297 each by the way)instead they need to instal this axel kit to fix the problem:confused I asked how much for the kit? and they told me it was only $1300 for the parts and explained why it was to hard for me to replace these parts myself when they will do it for only $900 in labor:fire I think ill just see if the car floats in the lake instead FYI kia for sale if it does

sorry just had to rant a littel errr

this should be an obvious statement thread:

The sky is blue
Water is wet
Cutting yourself with a knife isn't smart
Don't buy a Kia

See? it all works...

I don't know about Kias, but two people I know have Hyundais. The one person had one of the first Hyundais sold here and traded it for a 2000 Hyundai. Both have been super reliable for her. The first one was a 89, i think.

I wonder if the 10 year/100k mile warranty on kia's is like dodge's lifetime powertrain warranty..... only applies to the original owner.....

Mike, remember us having that convo at B-dubs about my moms crap ass Hyundai?

She just dumped $600 more into that pile. I told her to throw a brick on the accelerator and run it off a cliff....it would probably be cheaper.

Yeah, kias are pretty bad. But i work on hyundais, and overall they are pretty good (anything like 01 and up is pretty decent). I mean you get some Fed up stuff, but as long as the shit is maintained i dont see lots of crazy stuff going on. They're build quality has came a long way in the last like 5-6 years tho. That and for the most part they are pretty easy to work on.
