Hey guys I bought a 96 GT and it has the stock wheels on it I believe they are 8 inches wide. I was wondering if I could put a 275 on the rear and also what size you recommend I put on the front???

I don't know a lot about it but I'm guessing 245's should fit nice.

Well when you run into as many financial problems as i've been in. You just do what you have to do.

if i remember right they had 245/45zr17 as at least an option on gt's those years I'm pretty sure we had a customer cram a 275/35 on the rear but it was damn close and a tight fit on 8" rim

Well I'm trying to get a DR on the back and it jumps from 245 to 275 and I don't want it to be the same size front and rear. I want it a little bigger in the back. So you think it would fit???

Well I talked to the guy at the tire place and I got the tires ordered. He said I would have no problem fitting the 275 on a 8 inch rim. He also stated he had a mustang himself and had done the same thing.

What kind of supercharger? How many psi?

Sucks that you were most likely making more power n/a with the other car. Planning to remove the stripes?

Don't know how much psi until I get it tuned. But its a factory ford roots style supercharger.

I dont' see a supercharger on there. Can you take a close up pic? I personally woulnd't put a 275 on an 8 inch rim. Thats alot of tire for a 8".

275 on an 8" wheel is really really not recommended. I am pretty sure a 245-255 is the recommended width for that size rim, otherwise you end up with tires extending way past the lip of the wheel.

its really had to see its tucked in there pretty nicely. If you look in the pic. All you can see of it is the snout of the blower. In person you will notice it but only if you know a little something about superchargers.

As far as the tires....I used to run a 245/45/17 Nitto Drag radial on my Cobra and honestly it hooked up really well. I think you may have some problems with ride quality, and the tires wearing properly with that big of a tire on a 8' rim.

275 on the rear of that car will hit the quad shocks if it has them, i would never put a 275 on a 8 in, i have 275 on a 9 in and they fit just right. 245 will be fine in the front also

If you do decide to stick with them you can flip the quad shocks around. That is what I had to do to fit my 315's on. It has no effect on the handling or the ride.

Reverend Cooper

until it breaks the quad shock, there is a reason ford mounts them the wat they are,
get rid of the quad shocks all together and upper and lower boxed control arms in it and it will be fine

alright so I called them and changed it. From 275 down to 245.
