El Camino Project

Well I got a little work done on the El Camino this weekend so I thought I might share. I have a long way to go but it is a start.

I got a little more done this weekend. Now I am just waiting to get my A arms and rear end back from getting blasted.

I wire wheeled most of the frame a year ago and seems to be holding up ok. I had thought about pulling the body off the frame but decided that that was over kill for my plans and budget.

I got my UMI solid motor mounts in this week and I finished up putting in my brake lines and new calipers. The Hotchkis springs will go in this week some time when I get a spring compressor.

I am not a big fan of the monte carlo front end's but they are starting to grow on me. Also it will have a small shot of giggle gas:nitrous

Nice progress. What suspension or brake upgrades have you done? Hotchkis springs and more?

The only suspension upgrade so far is the Hotchkis springs, I plan on going with Moroso Trick rear springs. Brakes are just replacement stock calipers, rotors, and pads. Money has been tight lately so I started hanging body panels and checking alignment. The only issue so far has been the drivers fender that I bought. I don't know if it is bent, but it sits pretty close to the door. Not quite sure what I want to do about the body work yet, still thinking about trying to finish it my self, but I need an air compressor and a welder witch I don't have. A weird thing happened again last weekend. I don't know if this just happens to me but I really thought about selling it then I went to go take the pictures and decided not to try to get rid of it.
