She's a college student at Park Side and cannot afford or has interest in things that get expensive. Lucky for me that goes the same for jewelry :banana1: Anyways, she really needed a vehicle and for her birthday I decided to buy her something that was both safe to drive and somewhat economical. I found this beast via a friend of a friend kinda deal in not running condition.

I am going to get it running, put some decent tires on it and clean it up. Is there anything you suggest I put in it / on it to make it a more personal gift for her? Or any suggestions on how I give it to her? It will be a surprise, and I know she will be thrilled. I owned my s10 when we met and partially because of that she at least recognizes s10's and s10 blazers and points them out constantly. Just trying to make it an extra special gift for her.

Does she have a favorite song or do you two have a special song? Have that in the CD player (or cassette player, I guess, depending on what it has) so that it is playing when she starts it up for the first time. And you can't forget the big red bow for it too. Very nice gift, by the way.

Thats not a bad idea, I'll have to do that. She has a song she loves to death that reminds her of " us "I can get that info from her sister most likely.

Hopefully she doesn't kill me, she throws a fit when I spend money on her. I got this thing for 500 bucks, fuel pump is gonna cost a fortune but it shouldn't need much more then that. Tires, front end alignment, and maybe brakes.

I think this gift is thoughtful enough and is really nice. Shows you're thinking of her in everyway such as safety, taking care of her responsibilities, etc.

How would anyone here know how to make a gift for your girlfriend more personal?
Someone else here beat you to that azz?
Jeebus...make her a mix tape and pop it in when she starts it up.
Maybe you can have airbrushed t-shirts made with the 2 of you posing in front of the S10?

I'd say just get the car running and reliable. Maybe throw a tom tom in there when you get it going that might make it just that much better for her.

I have friends on here that I have known for 5 + years. When I say I'm going to show up, I do (unlike your shady ass) and that allows me to meet people and make great friends. What a concept huh?

This truck went 142,000 with the original fuel pump. My last s10 had 110,000 on the original fuel pump as well.

Nice little truck. Of course if you are truly serious about the economy and safety, don't fix it at all. She'll be safe because it can't get into an accident and economical because you ain't running it so no gas to buy. LOL

convert it to 4x4 so it will be safer in the winter too. Nice present!

^ She wont be driving in the snow, and it would be cheaper to sell this one and buy a 4x4 ;-)

whens it gettin train horns? Then you and your girl can tag team some people with your train hornage

pOrk
04-01-2008, 11:55 PM
Haha, she hates the horns as much as my finger tattoo so that won't be happening either. I think the truck will have a pink skull and cross bone decal on the back window and maybe the front windows tinted to match. I also might drop it 5/6 since I have tons of s10 static suspension stuff laying around.

04-02-2008, 12:16 AM
so no bags, no train hornage..... seeing as how those two are HIGHLY ILLEGAL and MORALLY WRONG, may I suggest drag racing it on hwy 100 but not going over the speed limit? :rolf

^ I've been with her for 5 years, and I don't want to be engaged forever so I'm waiting for her to finish school before we do something like that. Just how we both agreed to do it, so we'll see.

Thanks for the comments / ideas everyone.
