Either Fukudome is really the next Ichiro, or Gagne really is done for.

Leaning towards option 1.

I vote #2, I think his Boston days were the reality, not his Texas days. We shall see though!!!

On a brighter note, Ben Sheets isn't on the DL.

Yet.

Why we signed Gagne still boggles my mind. 1 year 10 million dollars. We could have kept Cordero for 11 mil a year. He signed a 4 year 44 million dollar contract. He was proven and fit in well with the Brewers organization. $1 million per year we lost Cordero:flipoff2:

The Brewers offered Coco a comparable amount, which he declined.
It was only a few million off... so it didn't seem like he wanted to be here.

Sad that Gagne used to be godlike, untouchable, easily the best in the game by far... was it because of HGH?
Probably :/

Only to choke AGAIN and go down in flames again. I would hope the Cubs do atleast decent cause of more than 300 million they dumped into the team last season and now more this season. If 300 million plus dosent do it what will? :rolf:durr

I have a friend down here in Champaign who is such a poor loser he freaked out at me after opening day. I didn't even give him any crap about the Brewer's win. All I said was well that was certainly an entertaining game and he exploded. He claimed that because I am not an avid fan of baseball I don't have the right to talk baseball with him. I even gave him a chance to take it back by asking him if that means he doesn't have the right to talk NASCAR with me because he doesn't know NASCAR. His response, yes. I couldn't believe how much of a sore loser he is being. Let's just say until he apologizes, I don't have anything to say to him, but I do hope they sweep 'em just to put salt in his wounds.

I went to the game today in wrigley. It was really a sight Ricky Weeks stepped up to the plate Ted lilly threw his first pitch and WHAM!! BYE BYE baseball HOMERUN Brew Crew and they didnt look back at all. 1 pitch, 1 swing = HOMER

Sad news though, a couple of brewers fans were showing their ass and got beat up by some cub fans in front of us. The cubs fans were allowed to stay and the brewers fans were ejected. Security was out of controll all in the brew crew fans face yelling and swearing face to face. He should have gotten punched too

Hopefully we will get to use our brooms tomorrow, Bush should be a decent sight to see pitching. He usually does well in the earlier part of the season and then slides backwards as the season goes on.

The defense is also clicking much quicker than I thought it would and the offense is outstanding. I know its only 2 games but its exciting cause the Brewers and Cubs are the two best teams in the NL Central (on paper atleast they are) and tomorrow should prove to be another exciting game.

I believe the Brewers and Cubs play 18 games this year and the Cubs DO NOT come to Miller PArk until after the All Star break!!!

Gabe got the start because he bats lefty, just playing the percentages, as Gwynn is not that hot against left-handers.

You are definitely subject to some verbal assaults when you go to games down there in Brewers garb. We went last fall and will be going again in September. As long as you don't act like a jerkoff (mooning them would put you in that category), they're actually OK. Wrigley is defnintely something to see... peeing in a trough on the other hand....

They are a much better team this year. 1 more year of experience for the young guys. I have very high expectations for this team. I think they picked up some real solid players. Our bull pen is probably the strongest it has ever been. Our offense is amazing, and our defense is better than last year. Anything shy of a playoff position would be disappointing.

see here is where your logic sucks... this is all if they dont trade half the team b4 the end of the season..

we have an amazing farming system but they tend to sell off all the goods.

What I think you mean is the talent they produce becomes too expensive to hold on to...

Milwaukee is not like New York where they have millions and millions to burn on anyone they want.

And your logic proving me wrong is where? You saying that my statements are false? Would anyone like to argue that the Brewers have a better team this year than they did last year? I didn't think so, because you can't. The Brewers have a great team this year. When do you think that they might trade them and why? Most are still under contract for at least this year. So inform me again why they would unload the team?

Antanasio has been a very generous owner. And has pumped millions into this ball club. Jenkins is gone - that frees up at least 7 mil a year. To think that the brewers are going to unload this team is ridiculous.

Jeremy,

I had never been to Wrigley before. That was quite a shock for sure. Then the brewers fan walked in and all hell broke lose. I saw security running toward bathrooms. Have bad thoughts about someone being tossed into one of those? Dunno?

I think Jenkins is getting like 3-4 a year and its a 2 year deal with Philly. Hes definately not getting 7+ a year anymore at his age and current ability.

The Brewers won't be selling any parts of their team off this year or next. I doubt they will keep the whole nucleus together, not many teams could afford to keep what the Brewers have going together minus the NY, LA teams and Boston. Sheets will be gone but thats not a big deal if the young pitchers keep healthy and improving like they should.

Its good to see that we haven't relied on the long ball so far this season. We have been scoring runs pretty well and getting guys on base and home. Our pitching looks good. I have high hopes.

On another note - still waiting for prince to go yard for the first time this season. I have a feeling it will be during this series.

yea you have no idea how close that home run in the ninth was to getting robbed. i was sitting front row right on that fould line. Hart missed it by about 6 inches. i like the way the game ended it was fun to be there. i was also hoping prince would go yard.

Shit I missed that. I love watching how people react to foul balls. I remember watching a game last year on tv when a guy went to catch a foul ball and it went right between his hands and drilled him in the forehead. They kept showing it on tv and the giant red lump kept growing throughout the game. Seriously one of the funniest things I have seen. That or Bako getting hit in the nuts last night. Twas pretty funny as well.

So frustrated right now. I don't think Yost really wants to win. Why would you not start Braun and Kappler tonight. They said Kappler had a bruised shoulder from batting practice but its not serious. Gabe gross sucks donkey balls and so does Dave Bush. /mini rant

04-16-2008, 06:50 AM
A friend told me at the bar last night that Yost gave braun the night off. in hopes of coming back and not swinning at complete shit pitches on 3-1 and 3-2 counts.

Nix
04-16-2008, 12:49 PM
Be happy that Yovani Gallardo is comming back up this weekend as his minor league assignment is pretty much over. Which means that ONE of the starting pitchers has to be moved out to get him in the starting rotation. Hmmmm, who do you think will get the axe?

Plain and simple Bush lacks talent, hes no good anymore and never really was to begin with...

Also yeah Yost wanted Braun to take some time off. He is on a 3-25 skid and no walks yet this season. He needs to chill out in the box and wait for the right pitch instead of swinging at shit all the time. Its not gonna kill you to take a walk every once in a while. He has to stop thinking about just him and start to think about the team.

I do admit Braun is awesome no doubt about that but he is young dumb and full of cum. He needs to settle down a bit and focus, espically now that he is in left field, no more room for those 23+ errors he had last season at third. That can't happen out in left.

Jsho13
04-16-2008, 12:57 PM
I am not disagreeing by any means. I was simply ranting that Gabe Gross is garbage. He is something like 2 for 20 or 21. Joe Dillan held his own last night but I think that Kappler should have been playing. They said he had a shoulder bruise from batting practice but I will take that over putting Gross at the plate. Prince still needs to get his first dinger. It seems like Braun and Fielder are always swinging for the fence. They need to both be patient for the right pitch. Plus they are both amazing hitters, no sense in flying out when a ground ball could put runners on base.
