As a true classic pontiac fan..................that thing is FUGLY.
But it looks like it led way for the 68 corvette.

Anything special about the I6? I think I've seen it on ebay before.Special? oh yeah....for 1, it's a "OHC" engine...a rarity in those days...
There are several different versions of the engine at 230 ci and 250 ci...and there was a "standard" version and a "performance" version of these engines as well. It's based on the chevy i6 originally...
I believe the standard versions were ~ 165-175hp...and the performance versions were around 200-215.
Now, keep in mind, a generic 225/6 would have been a 145hp engine, and a basic 318 two-barrel was 230hp...
but at the same time, the moderate performance versions of small v8's of the time (273/283/289's) were all in the ~220-230hp ranges too...although each had "HIGH" performance versions of the v8's that far exceeded that as well...
it really is, imo, a "neat" engine...would be fun to work with/on, upgrade...would be a fun daily driver type engine.

Looks like a vette to me. Little pricey, but I guess to the right collector well worth it.

Engine clearance. Had they put a V8 in there, the hood would be flat.
