I think the normal fee is $5 a day for a spectator. And you will be able to drive your car around the outside of the track (and inside) to go to the different corners to watch. Just be nice when driving around the paddock. It's a family event too and I know some of our friends usually bring their kids along and I have seen other families there as well.

Sadly my basic winter fresh up has turned into a friggen complete rebuild of the car and I have pretty much no chance of getting this thing running/tuned/track ready before next weekend. :crying On the up side, I will take my time putting it back together and do it right. I am always willing to go for a ride. Yes somebody has puked in my car and I have had a few lose there lunch shortly after a ride. Always eat light and no drinking at least two days prior. I am a bit concerned on how dry the grass / soil will be. You go anything but straight off, you will be in for one hell of a ride or possibly on your roof.

I live about 4 miles from the track and left for work at 3:00 pm and it was just raining. Has been raining all night in this area. Even if there would be a little snow it would probably melt as soon as it hits the ground. Hopefully the weather will clear for the weekend for you all but you might was to take your rain coat!

Common sense & safety measures prevailed today.

We had NO incidents- only 4 'clean' spins and only 1 went into the pea gravel.
Not a scratch on any cars.

Its only as safe as ya make it. We had instructors with ALL novice drivers and anyone in other groups could also use them.
Ben credits his 1st successful RA event to MANY hours playing Forza 2 ..... aaaaaaand assistance from Turtle!!! :headbang:headbang:thumbsup

Just got back a little bit ago...


It was cold as hell, but nice to see and hear the cars on the track. Hung out with Josh til we got cold, and proceeded to head to our respective cars. Met Adam and Michelle up there as well.... the SHO sounded nice coming up the front straight. :thumbsup Hung out with John, and another guy who's name slips my mind for a little bit more til I couldn't feel my hands, or see due to snow... Can't wait til tomorrow though. Also thought I saw Flick's girl's car as I came back into the track, but didn't stop to talk because I was cold. :(


John's synopsis was pretty spot on. Everyone was running safely, and word from the track was that it wasn't too slick out there. None of the snow was sticking to the track, but it was definitely blowing around pretty good. :wooo

My guess would be the Idle Air Controller valve.
Don't know what it's called on a mini-goat, but its cheap and can be had at n auto parts store and usually just requires 2 bolts and a plug.

Did the new GT-/R show and if so what did it run? Who had the quickest lap of the event and what was it?

It's not a timed event so I'm not sure there are any results so to speak. However just for fun I timed 2 cars in the A group that looked fast. A gray modd'ed 03 Cobra at 2:42 and what appeared to be a bone-stock C6 Z06 at 2:47. I just timed one lap so really not a representative sample.

Looks like I should have stayed Sunday John, you could have used some crowd control and I have no problem with that!! And Scott, if you knew John AT ALL, you would realize he's one of the easiest going people in the world as long as you're not acting a fool. Hell, Flick came up Sat. just to spectate, John told him without reservation "Hey, why don't you go up to the contol tower to warm up and watch the cars, just tell them I sent you, it won't be a problem." I mean how cool is that, something he didn't NEED to do, but just did it to make it a little more special for someone. Why don't you put yourself in his shoes for a second and re-think the whole scenerio and come back and let us know how you would feel. RA already cut the MFBA's track events from 2 to 1 a year, do you think John or any of the other people involved with MFBA would like to have that 1 weekend taken away because of someone acting out? Don't just lash out at this post either. Actually engage your brain before your mouth this one time is all I ask, and then come back, offer John an apology as you should, and everything will be forgiven.
