I just recieved a set of cornering lenses for the BMW that after I installed them I decided I hate them. I have an idea that I might like using a combo of my factory lenses and these ones. So what is the best way of opening these things up without breaking them? How would you loosen up the glue?

Post up some pictures of both sets but for the most part it's not going to turn out good. I've tried many different ways of doing something similar to what you'd like to do but it never came out looking like it did before the modification.....

Others might have better input but those things were assembled at a factory and NOT meant to come apart.....

If they are just glued... you can heat them up with a hairdryer, and they'll eventually pull/pry apart.

Otherwise you can put them in the oven at 200º, check every few minutes until you can pull/pry apart.

Yeah I've heard of baking lenses to get inside and remove the orange/paint them black.

Well I deas are always welcome. Here they are on the car. I think they are just to loud and don't match the color of the headlights. I'm considering opening them and putting the rear section of the factory light (last picture) into the rear part of the new housings to break it up a bit.

You're right on that one, they stick out like a sore thumb.....:durr

Can you get newer headlights to maybe match the corners a little better...???

For the corners I've tried the oven, a torch, a hairdryer and many others but have never been able to get them back to how they were made from the factory build wise. I'm can be sort of anal when it comes to that kind of stuff so it might come out just fine for you. Just be careful on both sets, it's not that hard to screw them up.....

Yeah those definitely don't "flow" at all. Looks like you need some black housings or something to match it better.

Maybe if you had them smoked?

I don't like the smoked look either.
