View Full Version : How to search salvage yards?

So... some drunk dumbass ripped off my passenger side mirror on my car :fire

Anyway... It doesn't make sense to go through insurance, and if I can find a decent salvaged one that's just fine. But how do I search multiple salvage yards at once? I thought I knew of a site, but apparently not. I need Satin Silver Matalic, I'd rather not paint it.

Any help?

strap on some boots and slosh through the mud.

Thats a local yard in Kenosha. Or call a few other places, like Sturtevant Auto Salvage or Roz Auto Salvage, they all have computerized inventories. Painting it wont be a big deal. Get the paint code, I can shoot it up for cheap.

Ok, so if I found one... do some of these places ship? I've never done this before.

Yes, most ship, especially if they are on some kind of part search data base on the net. Gotta call them and ask for details if they don't have that info stated on line.

Ebay is great, but for the fact that every mirror on there is drivers side :(

I plastic welded mine back on, but it bugs the hell out of me even knowing that it's broken. I suppose I could just wait until one pops up on ebay, maybe get a better price.

Very true but it won't be of the same quality compared to a factory piece, not even close.....

I beg to differ. I bought a new front bumper cover from certifit, only difference I see over factory is the new one from certi-fit doesnt have "Mercury" engraved on the bumper. Thats it. Fit and finish is perfect.
