Does anybody know of a place to take a cat to get a haircut...???

I'd prefer a place that someone has had a good experience with, because I know this is not exactly a 'normal' thing to do to a cat.....

I take my cat to Trim Time on Green Bay Avenue in Milwaukee/Glendale. It's a nice lil shop that does the Lion cut as some of the pictures show and same length cuts. I pay about 45.00 for it and thats for a 4 hour time slot. They cut the hair in the paws, bath, etc.

Heres a pic of my cat...suppose to be long haired but I keep him this short

That's exactly what I want mine to look like...!!! Awesome cat BTW :headbang .....

$45 seems very reasonable, and that's for a 4 hour time slot/does it take that long...???

Notice how happy those cats look about being made to look ridiculous. Seriously if you hate the cat so bad, just get rid of it.

I can’t speak for others but who says I hate my cat...??? I will agree that the one with NO hair left is a bit much (maybe borderline cruel) but if you do it right there's nothing wrong with it. The one cat of mine that I'm inquiring about is so hairy that he's like one of those automatic floor vacuums, but in the form of a mop. He picks up everything off the floor with his fur by just walking around...!!! I'm actually thinking he'll like the haircut, cats prefer to be clean and this will help him with that.....:thumbsup

I guess we'll see but if anything the hair will grow back.....

why would you cut the hair that short?! I'm with Karp on this one, if you need to humiliate the animal so bad, give it away to some that wants it.

If you're giving the cat a normal haircut that's fine. But those 2 pics are just humiliating IMO to the cat. It's basically cutting the animals hair just so it can be mocked and laughed at. To me that's like knocking up your sister just so you can have a retard around the house to laugh at.

:3gears: :3gears: :3gears:

Depending on how long the hair is and how easily your cat cooperates it could be sooner. I usually leave mine there for 4 hours so they can take their time. I've sometimes picked him up in 3 1/2 hrs but I wouldnt expect sooner cuz they take their time so the cat can calm down a bit.

Only reason I keep my cat this short is because of my allergies with the amount of dandruff his hair contains. Your cat will hate you before you take him/her and for a few hours after the haircut but love ya to death after. Mine loves it. :D

Thanks Queen, I will be giving them a call to set up an appointment.....:thumbsup

As far as the 'haters' I don't see how giving a cat a haircut is humiliating by any means. Mine's hair will be NO shorter than my other two cats that are naturally short hairs to begin with. Maybe the pictures posted are a little extreme (especially the one to where you can see his skin) but I will take before and after pictures so you can all see.....

I just want to clean him up a little not give him a buzz cut, that's all.....

Np glad I could help. I can see what people are talking about with a lion cut but keeping a long haired cat short is smart. They get natted easily, shed worse than a dog, and its very painful for them when it clumps up.

Can't wait to the see the before and after pics :thumbsup

Exactly, like your local Chinese buffet, it's weird, they take all the cats they can get.

Our cats are always super energetic after they get there hair cut. They really like it. With our one Persian we have 2 choices. Brush it DAILY or keep it in a lion cut like in the picture. It's way easier to just keep it cut.

Well I called Trim Time to set something up but forgot about getting the cat(s) up to date for their shots and so forth. Ironically we already have an appointment for that this Saturday so after that's done the one will be going in.....
