anyone else think that making the newer impalas a front wheel drive v8 was unnecessary.there is no room for anyhting in the engine bay.bad move on chevys part.

It's perfectly fine and I love mine. Although I wish I woulda waited for a G8, just cause I like the looks better. Those new commercials that were on during the NCAA games, were awesome.

i had a 88 cadillac sedan deville with a 4.5 liter fwd v8 and it had some balls for how heavy it was. specially when i put an exhaust on it and made a custom intake

I love my FWD V8 monte too... Not sure this needed a thread?? Such a bad move on GM's part, funny how they sell the shit out of them 2 years running now...

It only makes more sence to you to make it RWD, but when you gotta produce 100K of them into a dieing car market, why would you spend the capital investments to make it different and probably hurt sales? I dont think GM's # 1 priority is to sell 1,000 nitch cars ina year and LOOSE money on them?

Well it would have made more sense if they had a platform off which to make a RWD Impala. But they didn't. And since they had done it for Pontiac already, they figured why not.

im hoping the next gen impala will be based on the G8 frame, in which you will get your rear wheel drive V8 with a 6 speed manual, but for the time being I think the current impalas are kickass. I see SS's ALL over the place. Big seller.

RWD Impala is dead. Not happening on the new platform either.(for now)
