Well as of now it looks like we are going to get the best of this snow storm.....

How much do you think we'll get...???

To make it fair we'll take the reading at the airport, which is how the snow is measured around here anyways......

It should be illegal to say late march and snow in the same sentence. I say 3 in. I think it will be rain and warmer temps to help keep the gathering down.

Its called venting, also there has been so much snow this year Iam even getting tired of it and I love snow. :thumbsup

Life goes on, I was just on the roads and they are actually worse now then any other time I can remember this whole season. It is just that wet heavy ass snow and its getting packed down which makes it extremley slick.

So you want the economy around here to slow down even more...??? That's what will happen as a result.....

Then fewer people will have to absorb the same tax burden. No thanks.

Im guessing at least 12" I am a Trained Severe weather spotter(although extremely inactive right now) I get emails with storm reports and there was 7.5" on the ground in Franklin at 1200. There has also been one report of 12.5" on the ground at State Fair Park. I really do think there is something wrong with the reports that come from Mitchell Field, way too low IMO...

That falls under the umbrella of the economy slowing down, like I had already stated. There are many ways that a large scale flight to a different area would affect life as we know it, especially more 'well off' people. It wouldn't be a fast change but very slow and very hard to reverse once done.....

I really do think there is something wrong with the reports that come from Mitchell Field, way too low IMO...

I'm with you on that one...!!! I live right by the airport and I questioned the 7.5" total being reported almost two hours ago. I just got done clearing snow and there's easily more than that on the ground, should be more like 9" if you ask me.....

**** winter

TMj4 Quote 3/21

Snow-weary Madison had already shattered its record snowfall level this season, and another 10 inches were forecast by midnight. That would raise the winter total to 102 inches, well above the previous high of 76.1 inches that fell in 1978-'79.

Milwaukee isn't likely to break its record of 109.8 inches that fell about 120 years ago. But with 9.8 inches Friday, this winter season would reach 94.3 inches, officially becoming the second snowiest on record.

So with that said in our time, or parents time and our grand parents time this is the large snow fall.

So to me its technically the Record :D

Franklin 14 inches (officially)...... wooo hooo

Car Guy
03-23-2008, 12:17 AM
Well the official total at the airport was 12.4", and to be honest that's more than I thought we were going to get. It also moves us up to 2nd place for the most snow in a season...!!! :headbang

We need about 10" more for number one.....

my driveway ruler measured out 14" and that at 5 different spots. Seeing as this is the 2nd worst in recorded history, one shouldnt expect this to be normal. Hell the previous snow falls in our lifetime arent even close to these numbers.
