When are you putting them back on? I've got spring fever like never before, and I want nothing more than to throw my 19's back on.

How long are y'all going to wait?

Uh....

Mabey i just dont get it, but there wheels..... I say put them on and just rinse them off if it snows again...

There not gonna get corroded from a little salt/sand.

I strongly disagree :devil , and have seen with my own eyes what one snow/salting can do.....:wooo

Earliest for me is April 1st, but with 3 vehicles sporting winter tires they all don't get done right away.....

Just a FYI to everybody, if you have winter tires that are of the 'newer' softer compound don't put off getting them swapped out for summer too long. I have WS-50 Blizzaks on my beater Taurus and got super lazy about getting them off last spring. It was early June by the time that I finally did and couldn't believe how much tread went away in the previous month or so with the warm(er) weather.....

Needless to say I won't ever do that again.....:chair:

i bought my car at the end of winter, so i never bothered taking the rims off.. but the 235's will be coming off over the next winter.

No more pot holes on the road and all the salt is washed away...but that's when the car comes out of storage.

Probably near my birthday (sometime in april) Ive gotten the itch too early the past 2 years and messed up 2 rims on pot holes:fire Chicago pot holes:flipoff2: expensive choice :( I will probibly put my rims on before i put my lowering springs on so they can fix the remanding pot holes

True.. they're just wheels. BUT... 19's dont fare well against potholes

And... summer, low-profile tires are horrible in the snow which will undoubtedly show up again.

You do know that aluminum and stainless steel corrode (rust), right? They just don't go quite as fast as steel.

i'm gonna wait a little bit longer to get mine on. goodthing with the stock wheels is that i can run the car through scrub-a-dub instead of having to wash it myself.

I really want to put them back on by April 1st. But Adam did such a nice job cleaning up my bling-bling wheels that I don't want salt to touch them. Or those nasty pot holes. Looks like I will be waiting. Although we have some SVT Cobra wheels that need the old rubber burned off of them.... (:

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but even if we don't get 'as much' as they're calling for, you know the roads will be sparkly white with salt.....

My advice is to not drive or take them off (if you can) and wait until the roads clear up, that is if you DON'T want to start the corrosion process. All it takes is one salt bath and then it's all down hill from there, I love this climate.....:chair:

even if we get 1" of snow, they will cover the roads in salt. You can bet on that!

Do it anyway, see how many accidents you can cause by people staring at you thinking "wtffffffffffffff is he thinking?"

They all drive like backwards ass fu˘ks anyways, might as well give them a good reason to wreck. :P

Negative, it's spanish moss that grows on the branches. Our climate is much too cold to properly grow it :/

Seen here on an oak tree in Louisiana:

That it does... looks pretty sweet anyway :D

I put my summer rims on yesterday, after busting ass refinishing the last two in 6hrs.
Obligatory pix later.

There isn't going to be any accumulating snow anymore, nothing that needs salting either. No more snow piles on the side of roads that would melt/freeze overnight, so I think we're safe.

Well... Brought 2 rims to work today.. One needed a new tire, and the other needed to be plugged, Fukka nail

First tire plugged good to go!

On to the 2nd one.. I find out why the tire bulged and doesnt hold air, Cracked on the lip, Almost looks like it cracked on the factory weld seam, So called Mobile wheel repair who we deal with at work out of Byron, Said he could straighten it, weld it, Mount the tire and everything for $100

So looks like thats what i have to spend money on next, In case you dont know.. these are my 19" Centerline RPM's.. See Sig pic

Could you provide the contact into for this guy? All of my wheels need a little bit of straitening and curb rash from the previous owner on one of them.

Is he good? What all does he do?

Put mine on yesterday. I am running chrome motegi MR7s 17X7 rims with Sumitomo HTRZ II's. 204/40/17s with 35 psi in them. Brand new tires. Man do they ride nice. They are pretty cheap too. But so far I am doing fine. They have fixed most of the pot holes around here. Even with my air ride it still is fine. Actually these rubberbands seem to ride smoother than my "Give me the cheapest tire I can get for my steelies for winter" tires.
