View Full Version : What to do for 4 year anniversary?

Not marriage. We have been dating for 4 years as of the 25th of this month. I was a junior in High School, her a sophomore. We have been engaged since June 15 of this past year (her bday). Things haven't been the best lately, and going to school and working takes a good toll on the both of us, and we really don't get any 'us' time.

I was thinking a carriage ride through downtown (Milwaukee) to start off. Any other ideas? I'd like to surprise her with something we haven't done. I don't have a crap ton of money, but if it is going to be a good anniversary, I am all for it.

Good to see I'm not the only one who didn't take this seriously. :rolf

But really, I would consider getting down to basics (unless you already do most of the time) and cook her dinner. Make a nice evening around the house and then maybe go to a show/movie of some sort. But I'm a simple kind of guy.

Not sure why I thought I might get some serious replies. Haha.
I posted this same thing on another forum, and yes, the first response was **** in a box as well.

The chicago thing is a good idea, but way too ******* expensive.

Do a bunch of little things throughout the day while she is at work. Have a single flower in the car when she leaves for work, bring her lunch if you can, leave her a nice voicemail when you know she won't answer her phone when you call, and then make her a nice dinner when she gets home. It's the little things that matter most and you won't have to worry about spending too much money. I like the carriage ride idea if the weather is enjoyable enough. Have you had your picture taken together yet (engagement or "just because"), otherwise that would be a nice idea too. You could take her shopping and have her pick out something nice to wear for it.

I myself prefer to go to a decent hotel for a day or two to just kick back and relax with no cell phone, no internet, and no worries :headbang . Requirements for the hotel (as far as I'm concerned) are as follows: indoor pool if winter/outdoor pool if summer, hot tub, and some sort of salon to where you can get a massage by some smoking hot chick in a tight white outfit  . To me a day of peace and quiet is the best possible thing, which is why I love to golf so much......:D

Don't know how much you're looking to spend but you'd be surprised what you can get away with (even with a nice dinner), and if you don't care about the salon/massage thing that's $100+ right there. It's hard to be romantic on a budget, because spending $$$ without worries is half the 'romance'.....

You have 16 posts...and you are asking strangers on a car enthusiast site for ideas for your 4th anniversary with your fiance...when things between you two aren't going so well...
Gee...I wonder why things aren't going so well?
Maybe you could ask for relationship advice in the Lighting section of Home Depot next time you are there?
