Depends what your looking for. 9mm or .40 Walmart for some winchester white box 100 pack. Price just went up a couple bucks but it still cheap than any other place. For rifle I mostly shoot surplus so I am no help. Although last time I needed some hunting ammo. Somar (police supply store) in Muskego and Fleet Farm in the falls/germantown were pretty good

GREAT PISTOL CHOICE.!!!!!

but for home defense.. i would love to reconmend that you get a mossberg 590 9shot special purpose.

i have 2 tactical shotguns and i have to say its a great starter gun for home defense.

Other then the cobalt, you really make me laugh somtimes. Please learn a little about firearms. I would not recommend a mossberg shotgun to anyone for anything. If you want a shotgun at a reasonable price for home protection NOTHING beats a 18" Extended Mag pistol grip 870 Remington. Period.

As far as Tactical shotguns though, I would not give up my Benelli M1 For anything!!!

The XD40 is a superb firearm. I used to own 2 of them with the 5" tactical barrels. I sold one of them to a board member about a year ago and I know he could not be happier with it. XD40 with Federal Hydra Shok JHP's FTW!!!! Just save your cash and wait man, its worth it.

When you have it, hit up badger outdoors. They will get you a great price on it and they usually have the hard to find tactical models in stock.

i also am a fan of the 870....

but a perp probably will not care which kind of shotgun it was when their torso blown into the next county.

just picked up 2160 rds of 5.45x39 the other day, and a few 100 7.62x39. I bought some win white box 5.56 and 7.62x51. that shit is getting expensive. i try to buy 500 rounds of something a month. trouble is, I have many rifle calibers so it takes a while to build up a substantial amount of anything.....but I still try;)
I wish surplus (or any ammo) was cheap again, but it is not getting any cheaper.

Watch Dunham's for cheap 12 gauge ammo. Can sometimes pick game loads up for $2.75/box.

I probably have 3,000 rounds of .40SW and 500 rounds of 12 gauge. I quit collecting about a year ago. I reload both. I'd buy more if money permitted but ammo isn't cheap anymore. It used to be 100 rounds of JHP white box winchester for $14 at walmart.
