$100 bucks off a PS3

This thread is to document my experience in getting my $100 off a PS3. The Visa/Chase ad below makes it sound relatively easy, but once your get your card and trying to find out how in the hell do you actually get your $100 bucks back it doesn't seem to be all that clear. It doesn't say it anywhere in the literature that comes with the visa card how this actually happens.

So... I take the plunge

Step 1.
Goto link (http://sonycard.sony.com/sonygateway/gateway.asp?offerlink=adbrit100&PID=none&SPID=B7RZ&CELL=628Y&MSC=MO001001&AFFID=&CLICK=&CID=&PROMO=DF01) and sign your life away and ruin your credit forever (ok that was bit extreme)

Step 2.
Wait about 2 weeks for your Sony Visa to arrive. (maybe took a week for me)

Step 3.
Goto an authorized Sony retailer like Best Buy, Circuit City, Walmart, Target, etc and buy your PS3 and put in on your new Sony Visa.

Step 4.
Goto https://sonyrewards.com/ and create an online account.
Click on "Your Account"

Click on "View Purchase Credit Form" and fill out the form with all the items you purchased on your Visa (you'll get 3 reward points for every $1 spent on any Sony item and 1 reward point for every $1 spent on anything else at an authorized retailer.
But remember I'm not interested in any damn reward points, I just want the $100 bucks off my PS3. I'm assuming they credit the card after they see the purchase. read on...

Yeah!!! It worked!!!! Was it a bit nervous it wouldn't pull through without a lot of fuss.
Had to log into Chase.com to confirm the credit.

So you can buy the PS3 anywhere? The way I read it you had to buy it from Sonystyle.com and since they were sold out of the 80GB I have been waiting for the new packages to be released... Also, do I need to fill out that damn form to get my points???? I have been burning up my Sony card on everything from gas, etc. assuming I was going to get a point per dollar automatically...

OK looked on the site and I've been getting my points, but yeah I may just buy a PS3 somewhere now that I know I can get it anywhere. Anyone seen 80GB ones still on the shelf somewhere?
