I grew up in norcal and miss the hell out of sonoma french sourdough. I have tried V richards and panera ... panera makes ok bread.... but is there anywhere else that makes good artisan breads?? The sourdough i'm use to has a hard crunch and soft innards perfect for sandwhiches.... but nothin compars here thus far. anybody know a good place?? :confused also anybody make sourdough pizza???

I altually do, I have a starter that came with me here from where I lived in california, but sourdough is a fair bit of work to keep baking every week. Just trying to find something I could buy.

pat...i love it as well...ann gets it somewhere...let me find out...it the best that i've had since i moved back from ohio.....nice CRUNCH...and soft in the middle...warm it up and add butter....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Having your own "Herman" is the only way to get real Cali Sourdough. It's work intensive but worth it. I as well would like to find a source for fresh Sourdough. I used to live in California.

My Aunt and Uncle are from San Carlos and always bring fresh sourdough loaves from San Francisco. They delivered from the bakery still warm to the airport so you can buy one before boarding the plane. Those are the only ones that taste right.

Lightly toasted with some melted butter....

Breadsmith makes some great bread. I know there is one kinda on the east side and one off 76th and Layton

theres one in New Berlin on the corner of National and Moorland, and one on Good Hope by the Park Place towers.

Never had it there, but might be worth a shot.
