wow quad core gaming pc.... just curious, just how many games take advantage of a quadcore. IE: multithreaded

Well, a quad core is useless for gaming NOW, but it could be argued that it provides a certain degree of future proofing. Game developers could very well be taking advantage of it by this time next year. Though it's definitely overkill at the moment. Other than that, it's a fairly solid machine. $2600, though? Ouch. I haven't gone through and priced out the components, but I'm fairly certain the the same machine can built for substantially less than $2600. And with those components, I would NEVER put an Enermax PS in there. There are a ton of better, more reliable power supplies to be had for the same money.

You would probably be better off parting it out. But like Cryptic said, how much are you looking to get for it?

Not to bash you Cryptic but if you are going to post a link, at least post a link to a site with a good reputation (theinquirer.com is a joke), or one that is not two years old.

Quad cores are used in some games and some games are patched to use multi cores that when they were released didn't use multi.

It would be just plain silly to not have a quad core cpu at this time.

I was running a dual core extreme for crysis and the quad runs circles around it :)

and 2600 included some other crap that I ordered that I forgot about. if you were to price all those parts on newegg now it would come to about 2100-2300

and Ive used enermax liberty's in all my gaming builds and never had a problems to be quite honest.

Valve Software is dumping a lot into multi-core Software development. They believe it's going to have as big an impact as Open GL video cards did, way back. ( I rocked the Dual Voodoo II's :) Helloooo 1996 :headbang )

But right now? Yeah, not too much.

You still haven't posted what your asking price is.

About $2470 shipped for everything new from NewEgg... Not bad components overall, though you do realize that if you try to sell it as a whole you're not going to get anywhere near what you paid for it. You really would be better off parting it out on eBay.

Im loooking for 1700 for everything....... which is pretty reasonable if you ask me since its 2200 new on newegg, still have all the warrenties, all the boxes, and since I just got the EVGA 8800 you can use the EVGA set up program to goto the 9800gtx for about 100 bux if you;d like
