I'll take the diesel over the gasser anyday, the 95 454 chebby gasser got 8-10mpg and the Excursion gets 15-18mpg around town, if you tow heavy there is no contest....

It's gonna take me a looong time to make up that $7K option at this rate.

But then again, I wasn't really worried about fuel economy or I woulsa bought a Yaris or some shit like that.

I'm still thinking diesel will be $3.50 when gas is $4 this summer. The economy can't sustain such high diesel prices... too much depends on it.

Filled up at $3.69 at Flying J in Oak Creek this morning too....

Bingo, that and hauling are the exact two reasons i bought my truck.

03 Cummins are still going for 18-20k

03 Dodge 1500 with same miles 12-14k

Theres your 7k right there!

ya it will take another day....that price will only go into effect when they order there next load. Some places dont go through it very fast....we are lucky enough to order in every 3days or so with diesel. And every other day with Gasoline.

Plus our guy called us and let us know what was going to happen so we quickly ordered as much Diesel and Gas that would fit in the tanks. So we wont have to change for atleast another couple days.

does race fuel fluxuate as much as normal gas?

does race fuel fluxuate as much as normal gas?

Nope, and Thank God.

I'm not sure on the exact process but the Race Gas Company's pre-buy huge amount of raw petroleum (spelling) so they get the same steady price throughout the year. Most of the time, until late last year/early this year. They all went up anywhere from 30cents-45cents a gallon.

Thats why you'll see a lot of guys who sell it at the pumps be around the $6.00 mark in the summer.

with the "diesel mania" going on all over the place, the price will only get higher. you are seeing diesel motors in atvs, sports cars, suvs, 1/2 ton trucks, you name it and it is going to be offered with a diesel. add that increased demand to the fact that the government feels the need to regulate what kind of diesel you can use, and that equals higher and higher prices. while diesel is a great choice, the truck drivers and farmers have to be wondering WTF is going on, LOL!

in europe you can get 3-4 levels of diesel and only one type of gas (at most stations). this gas situation sucks, im thinking about getting a yaris 4 door for daily commuting. cant beat the 30-35 they claim
