That's Doyle keeping his promise not to raise taxes. He just raised every single fee he could instead.

But don't worry, that money goes to keep our roads in the pristine shape they are.

also remember the dates you paid them on because now its going for 1 whole year to that date, not like before you had the whole month of march to pay for your plates if you pay for your new plates on the 3rd next year they have to be paid by march 3rd otherwise the police will ticket and that also equals more cash for this great state!! What a bunch of BS.

Farm Plates didn't go up, still $22.50 a year for 12,000 pound plates that don't need to be emission tested. :thumbsup

Be grateful you don't have to pay it by the value of the car. Wisconsin is still one of the cheapest state to register a car.

Exactly, one of my friends that lives in Wyoming said that it's like... 300/year for the first couple years then goes down from there... It's a percentage of original MSRP, not even what you paid for it...

No inspections is nice too, imagine having to have a working parking brake on your winter bucket just to have legal plates. :flipoff2:
Or cats on your 500 hp blown late model. :rolf

Yeah, good ol' Mr. "We Should not, we must not, and I WILL not raise taxes" Doyle... only two more years of him... *sigh*. Wisconsin voters were like a bunch of lemmings last time around and developed collective amnesia about Doyle in 06. It was pathetic.

If you're renewing after June 1st (or is it July 1st) you won't have to...

Don't be shocked if it happens again. This State is known for sticking with encumbants no matter how shitty a job they do.

They started doing something else this year too. If you have multiple cars and they are close in time they just send you one envelope with all your stuff in it. I just got one yesterday with $75 for the Iroc, $23 for the bike, and $86 for the truck. Gotta love when they pile it all on at once.
