I'm trying to resize some pics to avatar size but when I drop them down they turn out all weird looking. Anyone have any ideas as to what program I should use?

The easiest is Microsoft Paint. The IMAGE tab on the top, then RESIZE/SKEW. Just put in what % you want the pic to be.

step farther from the subject when taking photo... object will be smaller, then just crop

Try this Nan, MS Image Resizer PowerToy (http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe) works great! All you have to do is right click... :banana1:

look for a program to download called Irfanview. Sweet program. Resizing works great, you can click some preset options or specify your own and it makes sure the special size you enter keeps it in parameters so it doesn't distort at all.

lol, I agree with the first post. Mspaint ftw!

Or, when you upload into photobucket you can select a size and it'll resize them automatically.
