Adam has a '78 Kawasaki KZ650 SR and it needs some work before he can drive it this summer. He thinks the carbs need to be adjusted. Anybody familiar with "older" bikes and could get it running well?

Adam rebuilt the carbs twice, but wasn't successful, so if he could find somebody to get it running, that would be great.

Thanks!

(Didn't we used to have a motorcycle section on here?)

I can take a look at it.....

Carbs may be fine, have him check the fuel lines. Ive seen this happen tons of times where the shut off valve gets clogged. Simple solutions first, check for fuel.

I'll have him take a look at that tonight. I think it was leaking fuel pretty bad that last time I looked at it before winter.

^ Sounds like bad pet cocks, a common problem on those bikes. Just turn them off when the bike isn't in use to fix that. Also if it is leaking from there, then check the fuel lines that go from the petcock to the carb. Those were gunked up pretty nasty on my cb750
