for sure.. u know there are other power adder options that you could bolt up. like lp injection.. you can run that all day long under stock parameters/ stock engine.

they just have a history of problems. i know the most recent trannies that they started installing are ALOT BETTER. there is a plate that is in the trans that they glued together in some of the older models. now that plate is welded. atleast thats what the tech said.

Ya the new 6 speed autos that are mated to the 6.7L cummins are amazing. I really wish i could get one to direct swap!

Very Nice, I had a 05 1500 Hemi and loved how it looked.

For dodge, go bullydog. But be prepared to have a new trans built very soon!

Buddy of mine has an 06 dodge diesel. He has exhaust and a bully dog programer and on level 3 he blew his trans with in a couple weeks. Not a cheap rebuild either.

If you are going to do a lot of towing, I would upgrade the tq converter. They like to give out at the worst times.

sweet truck!! the smarty you CAN NOT BEAT on the 600 series. if you would like to try a bullydog for a night with all the settings i can help you there:) gimme a call. but the money on a go fast programmer is the smarty. there was also a efi live version for the 03-06 floating around too, but it only made it to beta testing. Van Aken the builder filed for bankruptcy. I have read some awsome things about it, like 13.0et on stock everything (built trans):shades. hopefully another builder picks it up.

the 4spd trans do blow, but they went the real smart way with that ORION 6speed. That kicks allison where it hurts.

The new Orion is a hell of a trans but stock on stock the 6 speed allisons are still better.

I drove all the new diesels before we bought the chevy, IFS was the ONLY downfall to the truck IMO.

The Allison's also have TONS of available upgrades in production and can be made to be damn near bullitproof, there isnt much available for the new Orion transmissions yet.

None the less, having orion build the transmissions was the smartest move they have made in a while!

Thanks guys, I've been in a car my entire life so this was a big adjustment to me. But so far i love it 100x better than my stang. It rides better (i know that seems hard to believe) smooth, the torque is amazing, the leather is so spacious and still smells new. Like i said so far, im hooked and will be a Cummins guy for life.

Flick- I will be picking up one of those Toyota thingys within the next 2 years. I needed this to haul that, and also help with the Race Gas business.

Also the Orion Trannies are amazing. Your never going to be able to tell which is better Allison/Orion But either way both are amazing and built like tanks. Do they make direct swaps? Because i would just order and OEM one if anyting ever happens.

there is a guy building allison swaps for cummins. he works for allison and has a standalone ecm for them. long story short it resulted into a duramax argument saying there was no such thing as a standalone ecm for allison because they all want one.. its not that expesive of a swap!! the guy doing them is gabe, here is the info http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/dev/showthread.php?t=123026
