I am taking Ideas for new wheels on my TA. Willing to spend about a grand. I want these bad but holy crap are they pricey. http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/fbshopmain2.asp?cat=G click on the year one billet aluminum wheels

I am looking at getting these though. http://customwheelsales.com/catalog_details.php?ProdID=97

Any other ideas are welcome.

Personally i would look at some sort of a mesh stlyed wheel personally, i think a nice gunmetal or black Mesh wheel with a big fat chrome lip on it being all staggered would look sick on your T/A i'll see if i can find any pics.

I like the second ones, the first link just sends me to a random new products page. Post a pic of the first ones please.

why dont you post up a decent sized pic of your car and a pic of the said wheels you want and ask someone to please photoshop them on your car?

I think that would give you a great idea if you really like them or not.

Don't know why but like many of the newer generation Corvette wheels on something like what you have, especially the Zo6 wheels.....

You just need to find someone with wayyyy to much money that just bought a brand new Corvette and wants some different wheels just because he/she doesn't like the stock ones. You can really find some good deal if you look hard enough.....

I don't think the Ruff Racing 280's is a good choice. Only 1 black Trans Am is allowed to have them in the Milwaukee area at a time.

they work....

You can get them thru Ebay alot cheaper. I paid under $1400 for mine with tires already mounted and balanced and shipped to me.

Too bad they are $1000 a piece, not for 4.

i like the ruff ones... if only they made the wider for the rear wheels..

Josepy
02-26-2008, 08:23 AM
i think they make wider ones. the set i am going to get is the 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 there wide enough and i can squeeze 285's and 295's on the rear. As much as i burn off tires i couldnt afford anything wider.

That's the same sizes I got which worked out perfect.

I think these look the best so far.. However, you can't go wrong w/ a nice slim 5-star rim.. I hate a fat, chunky 5-star like your stock ones.. Its slim or nothing IMO..

I bought them thru ebay from US Rim Supply on an ad like this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-Corvette-Camaro-GTO-Ruff-Racing-280-Wheels-Rims_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43958QQihZ006QQite mZ160212320245QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Those exact specs. However I think I just called them up and bought them instead of running it thru EBAY. They were great to deal with.

heck i might even splurge and go for the chrome

Have you considered the Ruff 281's?
The 278's, 280's, and 281s are really popular with the GTO crowd. I had been considering for a while, a staggered set in 19x8.5/19x9.5 for post tax splurging.

Yeah ive looked at them all. I dont know what to do. Safest way would be chrome. But i like the black with the polished lip. I have a guy sending me some pics with them on a TA

You were asking about the rims being wider. Can't you buy the "shells" of them that are wider then have the inside spokes put into the rim? I know a guy did that with some Watanabe wheels.

what sizes do the Z06 wheels come in? Just the 19's like they do on Vettes? or since those are reps are they smaller?
