In my opinion....those photos of Danica Patrick just kinda perpetuate a stereotype. It isn't easy for a lot of women who are involved with cars, we are often treated like objects, and not given credit when it is deserved. Still seen as "hood ornaments," you could say. I'm not saying this happens 100% of the time, but pretty often. I have had many people look right past me, and try to ask my husband questions about MY car, just assuming that I wouldn't know sh*t, and am just there to show cleavage. Danica Patrick posing like that was kinda disappointing to me. She's pretty, but she should have focused on being known for her driving skills, not her boobs. Just my opinion, though.

It seems to me (at least in my experiences) that many guys get "bent out of shape" when a woman is involved in something that is largely perceived as a "guy-thing." Not sure why, but it seems to be so. It's almost funny how lots of men talk about how it would be "so hot" or "so awesome" to find a woman into cars, but then when they do, and she turns out to be SERIOUSLY into cars, and not just a pretty little ding-bat who will pass them wrenches, the story kinda changes. I have actually had a few men say to (i'm honestly not making this up) "Isn't that car a little too much for a little girl like you?" Then they wink, and chuckle....as if I'm supposed to be charmed by this.....It sometimes feels to me as if many guys treat me like a child that has just been caught playing with something dangerous, that I "can't handle." But, as for the rest of you guys out there that treat us as equals and give us credit, you are all awesome!
