I just bought my wife a TomTom One for VDay. Very simple, effective, and easy to use. Pretty cheap too.

I use a Garmin in my hovercraft. 54 mph on Pewaukee Lake last week.

There was 3 inches of slush on the ice, morning of Tuesday the 5th, before the big snowstorm. I used my Garmin Etrex for the speed measurement.

Sold the yellow 2000 and bought the white 2001. Kept the GPS for the white one. It just sucks having to load the maps for different areas. The memory is too small and not upgradable. It's about 8 years old, time for a new one.

Cryptic, your sled would be waaaaay faster than a hover.

I bought a Nuvi 200 on black friday. It's great, I use it all the time. I just got back from Utah (was there for a month) and was able to fine anything/everything I wanted to eat or do.
