scored this 64 Chevy 8.2" 10 bolt chunk pretty cheap....so the build up should start soon....its an EXACT chunk like what's in the car currently, 3.08's and all. But this one will be a bit stronger when its done.:shades

I have plans to get the yacht movin this summer :stare

You'll keep the current 3.08's currently in the car too? It'd be nice to swap in if you plan a road trip somewhere in the thing.

I'm going to 3.73's and will keep the 2.76 for planned long trip excursions. Just got to practice swapping the thing in and out so I can get the swap time down to around 30 minutes or so...

yea I'll keep the whole chunk together in fact....3.08s and all

Like ron says...I might see about getting a third member with 4.56 or 4.88's too just for fun.

Ok, every time I see the title of the thread as I'm looking through the list of new posts, I keep reading "My 64 Biscayne rearended" And every time my heart stops thinking it was rearended. Dang dude, give a guy a heart attack. :)
Cant wait to see it out and about again this year.

after some cleanup on it this weekend with the wire wheel:

http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/2648/wirewheeled2fa9.jpg

on this one you can see the progress......the left side was done with 2 sizes of wire wheel + some dremel work to get into the small spots. The right side was done with the rough pass with the wire wheel

Its not done but you can see how nice its cleaning up. Still has 45 year old GM marking paint on both the inside of the housing and the outside.

here it is all restored and ready for assembly. In the bottom pic, I performed the necessary gusset clearancing to get it ready to accept the Eaton 3-series carrier
