I've been waiting to buy a kobalt toolbox until it goes on sale. What's up with lowes sales though? It's like one week the entire store is on sale and then no sales at all for 5 weeks. When it goes on sale, it's $200 off too. I'm pissed.:fire

Just go in and rob the store.. Its the american way to get something w/o paying for it..

Lowes has a sub-par LP program. Grow some balls, grab it, stick it in a cart and walk out. The odds are greatly in your favor.

lol

I like the kobalt toolboxes better then craftsman. Check it out at kobalttools.com. The large one is 42" ss with cover and liners for $800 both pcs. It's a bit smoother and feels like a bit thicker steal also. The toolboxes are also made in the usa.

isn't Kobalt the "offbrand" of craftsman? or is it Bluepoint?

Bluepoint is owned by Snap-On I think.

Because when I had a Snap-On account at Quad Graphics I had a lot of Bluepoint tools.

Kobalt was made by snapon a few years ago. It's made by some other brand now... I can't remember what one. Their tools are good, but not worth the $$$ for what they are (virtually no name that could go out of business in a week).

I think kobalt is slightly better quality then craftsmen, but I would take craftsmen tools over kobalt for the warranty. But (cheep) toolboxes don't have lifetime warrantys and this toolbox is a bit better and cheeper then simular craftsmen models IMO.

Only kobalt toolboxes are made in the usa, everything else kobalt is overseas.
