computer illiterate needs your help

how can I copy my entire desktop and paste it into an email? I've seen some of you copy everything that shows up on your desktop, or a particular window and paste it into a post on here.
how is this done?

hit ctrl+print screen then paste it into where you want it

Actually you don't need to do ctrl. Just Print screen. Then you open up an image editing program like mspaint and ctrl+v or edit --> paste

printscreen copies entire desktop

you can paste into outlook. Wont work for you in yahoo email. You have to open paint and paste and save as an image and attach the image.

Just be careful of what you have open when pasting desktop screenshots.

I've seen much lulz ensue after people post their desktops, and it shows they have tabs open for gay midget clown porn and lemonparty.org or whatever.
