Just got back from the Auto show.

first off, if you've got the 5-6 hours to spare to sit in traffic (ridiculous), I highly reccommend giving your money to the Chicago auto show, and not giving a dime to our POS show up here. It's ridiculous how bad our show is in comparison.

I absolutely fell in love with the new Challenger. It was even better in person then in the pics IMO. That car is exactly what I would want for a new "musclecar". It's big enough that I can actually comfortably fit in it, and has just a great look to it. It's everything the Camaro turned out not to be.

I was very disappointed in the Camaro. The roofline is way too low, and the door height too high. It looks like there will be nothing but blindspots driving the car. I know that wasn't a production car, but I didn't like the car in person at all. It looked bulky yet small somehow.

G8 was a bit of a downer as well. I don't like this deal in 4 doors that if your taller, or fatter that if you have the seat back you end up with your head directly inline with the B-pillar. The car is maybe a tad bigger then a 3 series. I'd have preferred it a little bigger, but again I'm a bigger guy who hates small cars.

BMW 1 series, besides the horrible name which makes it sound like Fisher Prices My First Beemer. looks kinda stupid to me. The curves on the lower half of the body made the car look more like a Kia or something IMO. $35K for a vert 1 series? I could pick out 30 cars I'd buy before that.

I went sunday, great show, 1000 times better than the milwuakee one I went to like 5 years ago. Went down to visit a buddy that goes to UTI and we rode the train into chicago so no traffic for us. I was very impressed with GM as a whole. They really appealed to the people. Chrysler with the jeep exhibit and the dodge one was also pretty cool. I couldn't agree with Kraps TA more, the challenger was nailed. The did a perfect job on it, just too bad it's so heavy. And the camaro, it just doesn't do it for me. It looks way too much like a prototype that'll never come out. Not that I'm saying it won't, it just doesn't look like something that sell a million copies. Gotta love the ZR1 and the bodyless one next to it. The bodyless chassis really made you see how compact that car is. Definatly very cool. Ford was very plain jane, along with toyota and honda, just kinda had all their cars just assorted, wasn't impressed at all. Cool show, I'm definatly gunna try to see if I can make it down next year
