I'm in the market for a dual stage boost controller :thumbsup

What have you used and what are you running at the moment ?

Ive heard nightmares of electronic controlled boost controllers, buddy of mine had a older version Profec B and loved it. I did some research on it and it looked like there was interest on allot of boards to find these, the newer ones were said to be junk. :rolf

Here a basic one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TurboXS-Universal-Dual-Stage-Boost-Controller-MBC-DSBC_W0QQitemZ180128172762QQcmdZViewItem

I've always been a HUGE Fan of the Blitz SBC-ID Boost controller. My buddy had it on his 800WHP Supra and never had a problem with it. He was one of the 1st people in the Midwest to run it so no alot of people knew every feature on the boost controoler but once he read up on it, it was amazing.

Here is an article SCC did on that B/C as well as others.

and another link

it is a PRICEY unit though.

Thats a pretty sweet unit. By no means am I a penny pincher but that price tag is to much for what I really need for the good ol' neon.

Thanks for the links tho

I have the SBC-iD and it's probably the best boost controller I've used. I've had the HKS EVC 4 and EVC 5. It's pretty easy to set up and use... I haven't really used any of the more advanced features... but when coupled with the Power Meter iD you can control boost by speed.

I have very accurately controlled anything from 20-45psi with a TurboSmart manual, without any of the usual problems. (massive spikes, large fall off up top, $200+ solenoids or controllers taking a crap.

I know Twicks has had good results as well. Hell... I have even controlled 2 separate wastegates with the same boost controller

Otherwise, if you REALLY want to have a dual stage, I know tons of people ranting about the Hallmans.

I should mention, the only thing I DO NOT like about the SBC-iD is the fact that they use a nylon hose from the main box to the manifold for reading the boost levels. A much better design would incorporate the boost sensor into the solenoid the way my EVCs were. Other than that I have never had a problem or issue with the SBC iD. It came highly recommended from a mechanic who used to work on my car... and he was right. The price shown on Blitz's site is a little high, you should be able to pick one up for about $400 new, or a used one would probably be less than that. Actually when my upgrade is finished, I might be selling my SBC-iD because the boost will eventually be controlled through the ECU and changed through an accompanying gauge.

Free three stage thru one switch:

Couple solenoids and poppet valves, double pole single throw
switch works everytime exactly where you set it.

Pkg it right and its out of site and easily adjustable.

Those online $140 boost controlers are simple poppet valves
nothing more. You can make a 8 stage controller for under $30.

I've installed and used a lot of different ones. I've had a HK$ EVC IV for eight years now, works awesome. By far, my favorite.
