I have L18 8.1L / 496 ci BBC from a 2003 C4500 dump truck. I was told that it has 78,000 miles on it and that it ran when the truck was parted out. It has all of the intake, computer wiring, cast stainless steel exhaust manifolds, accesories(alt, a/c, ps) A few of the plugs have been damaged but all the wiring is there. The plastic fan blades are cracked. The Throttle body is the electric drive by wire type but it is damaged. I also have the MAF and air box and the gas pedal(part of the drive by wire setup)

On ebay drop outs like this go for about $2500, I know mine has a few things that need attention so I would like to get $1500 for it.

If you don't know anything about this engine its pretty bad ass. Its the new generation of BBC. Some things are like old BBC(exhaust manifolds, belhousing, accessories....) Some things are not, the heads have a different bolt pattern, I read in a magazine that there is a way to modify old BBC heads to make them fit but I havent found anything that shows how to do it.

This is from Wikipedia
The Vortec 8100 (RPO L18) is a V8 truck engine. It is a redesigned Chevrolet Big-Block engine and was introduced with the 2001 full-size pickup trucks. It retains the same bore centers as the old 7.4 L big-blocks, but stroke was upped by 9.4 mm to reach 8.1 L (496 in) for a total of 107.95 mm bore and 111 mm stroke. It is an all-iron engine (block and heads) with two valves per cylinder. Power output ranges from 225 hp to 340 hp (168 kW to 254 kW) and torque from 350 ftlb to 455 ftlb (475 Nm to 617 Nm). Vortec 8100s are built in Tonawanda, New York. The Vortec 8100 is the engine used in the largest Uhaul, their 26 foot truck.
