Bumper Boys are crap. they are cheap and you get what you payed for.

Last spring i picked up a business card from a guy at Jefferson. Metal Finishing Chrome Plating. 3047 N. 55th St. 414-873-1776 The card says they do bumpers.
There samples looked good. I don't know about prices or quality. Wouldn't hurt to give a call.
Other than that I haven't heard of anyone else in the Milwaukee area that does bumpers. Most anyone who does any chrome in the area is real expensive.

The other place I've heard recommended regularly is Tri-City Plating in Tennessee.
Found them on the Chevelle forum. Seems that they offer original replacements as well as re-chroming you own.

I can get it done, Driver/OEM quality chrome, if your bumpers straight or just needs minor repair they turn out nice, last I checked it was $450 ea. I've heard Desert Dog out of Chicago does nice work, I think they where $350 ea or so.

I've heard great things about Tri-City...

I'm going to call Tri-City I think and see what they say/cost etc. Rechroming a 64 Fullsize bumper should be cakewalk as its 3-piece both front and rear....small pieces should make things easier to work with

Wow! I wonder if a one piece bumper is cheaper for them to do? But i haven't heard any bad reports on Tri City's quality.
Let us know what you hear from the guy on RSD.

My dad goes out of a place in Oshkosh.

Absolute perfect bumpers on his '55 Bel-Air.

It is a lot of money.
I had emailed a restoration guy (http://www.haleperformance.com/) on the Chevelle forum on a his recomendation for a reasonable plating house. He basically told me theres no such thing as cheap chrome these days.
I've read guys telling how they paid $900 per bumper when the could of had both done for that price at Tri City.

PonchoDan should post up the guy number in Oshkosh.

They guy who did my carb mentioned someone in Oshkosh too. Maybe it's the same guy.
Could this be him?
