Has anyone used NON hi-heat spray paint on Brake Calipers. I Have used Engine hi-heat paint before on them but i Don't want to have to let my car sit for 5 or 6 hours to wait for the paint to dry. Do you know of any faster drying hi-heat paint. or will regular paint hold up on brake calipers?

I'm painting the calipers on Saturday when i do my new X-Drilled and Slotted Rotors on my 240sx.

Thank you BCM.

I could, but i have to work Sunday Morning, And i don't have anything else to drive right now. So i have 1 day to have it done. Maybe i will get lucky and have it dry faster than normal.

Buy an extra set off of ebay, have them powder coated, swap them on to your car. Sell your old ones on ebay. Then they are done right, and little down time.

With most paints and epoxies you can speed up the drying time by heating the painted piece. Once the paint gets tacky you can put the parts in the oven @250-275 deg. for an hour or two. The heat helps drive out the solvents.

Once your done run the oven up to 475 so your pizza doesn't taste funny:thumbsup

i used duplicolor's brush on kit and it usually dries completely in like 30 minutes, so a few coats doesn't take too long, but usually i still let it sit for a few hrs before driving. Stuff stays glossy like its waxed/wet

EDIT: that is also when its warm out. Most paints aren't recommended to be used in this cold of weather

I used the same stuff on my GTP. I love it. Don't know what color you are going but I went with the red and it looks really nice. I got the kit at wal-mart for like $14 but they sell it at farm and fleet or any parts store.

do it right the first time and not have to worry about it later. either powdercoat it or use the high temp caliper paint.

Any way you can use the hi-temp paint and just put them back on carefully? Just hope for the best they don't get sprayed with some crap right away I guess.

Hrmm lemme think about this, I had the car since I was 16... And it was brand new when I bought it...

That car was far from shitty... However, at the end of my ownership however it had seen better days...

It's like buying a Talon TSi AWD Automatic... Actually stock to stock the Stang was faster... And broke less...
