I keep reading about Brock Lesnar starting to fight in the UFC and dont really know how thats going to turn out. In the collegiate wrestling world he was successful and in the pro football league a little to slow and uncordinated scouts said.

It must not be about money cause he turned down several contracts with the soap opera WWE (yes I do like fake wrestling)

So what do you guys think he will do? Big a huge flop? Success?

Can he be a force to be feared or will he shrivel under the first arm bar attempt?

Don't they test? I mean when he was in the WWE, he definatly looked like he was roided up.

He looks A LOT smaller now than when he was in WWE. A huge difference.

I always pull for the wrestler. Although the weight between those two look about 50 lbs off.

Looking forward to it... I think Frank is going to destroy him but it should be fun to watch Brock take a few REAL swings

I'm looking forward to it. I prefer to see the big guys fight. It's more interesting to me. Lesner was always one of the most impressive atheletes I've ever seen.

I watch the PPV's at Muskego Gateway and there's always a bunch of, for lack of a better term, wannabe UFC fighters. They are all like 5'5" tall and like 145 lbs and have the exact same faux mohawk haircut and wear Tapout clothing. Kinda funny. I'm sure some of them could do some damage. It's just funny to see them walk and handle themselves like they are 6'6" and 285lbs.

I think he'll get his ass beat in by any of the other top contenders.

i think this guy is the biggest fvcking joke to any sport period. he couldnt make it in the nfl and hes definately not making it in UFC. he should stick to taking steroids and acting, oh wait he sucked at that too.

Because he couldn't make an NFL team having no real football experience, he's a joke? Looks like 99.9% of the world is a joke then. The guy was a college wrestling national champion. Give me a break. The guy is/was a tremendous athelete.

Why did he leave the WWE in the first place?

Why did he leave the WWE in the first place?

the money and contracts have to be drying up over there due to the popularity of the NHB scene

Why did he leave the WWE in the first place?

He left mostly due to the schedule. He got tired of flying all over the world 300+ days a year. Plus I don't think he really liked the "fake" fighting as much as real competition.

I dont think he would do that bad in the UFC if he can keep his speed up. Wonder if he will try to do his trademark finishing move "the F5" on someone.

Haha I doubt it, that move would be nearly impossible to do unless someone was completely knocked out. Remember these are REAL fighters, 99% of wrestling moves would be countered before he could even try to pull it off.

Oh yeah and the fact that it wouldn't really hurt either

did you even see his first fight? I dont think he will do as bad as you think...most of the good fighters have strong wrestling backgrounds or learn it! he has strong pretty quick hands and he is VERY nimble on the ground so I dont think he will get rocked as bad as some think. After a few fights, I think he will gain momentum in the HW class.

It will be interesting to see if his chin can take the hit though? Some are great strikers and grapplers but drop like a stone when punched on the button

Milwaukee Rumble is also this weekend at the Waukesha Expo center. Saturday nite Gilbert Brown is fighting Steve Mongo McMicheal.

Lesner tried out and made a training camp of the Vikings. I think they wanted him to play in NFL europe but he declined.

The guy was like 105-6 in college wrestling as a heavy weight. So the guy has mat skills. It'll be interesting to see how he takes a punch. But I do remember a WWE match with Kurth Angle where he did a moonsault and landed on his head and got a concussion and still finished the match. So I'm thinking he's pretty tough.

Sorry it was a shooting star press

Toughman tournament was or is held at the expo. I fought in it in 2001. I get an invite every year.

Lesner will do well in the HWT division. The dude is tough, and will learn as he goes. I don't think his chin is a problem.

I agree. He's pretty big...yet still quick....he's good on the ground...and judging by his first fight he hits hard.
