I have a core 3.1 out of a 98 Monte Carlo with 125k. Motor turned over fine but would take forever to start and it ran like crap. This would need to be rebuilt before it is used. Make an offer!

Did it make noise when it finally fired up?

yeah, the guy I bought the car from said it was knocking, but I think it was just compression pushing past a head gasket. It would probably be best to go over the whole motor before using it.

I have a collapsable one in my garage you can use for a bit if that's the only thing holding you back.
