I got a Mass air flow from Pro M i think that might go well with your intake you got there. Came off a grand am just like yours with intake and some custom exhaust. PS you should get HP tuners on that car if you start modding the motor it will really help. I did it on my ecotec in my cav after i put the intake on and it helped a ton with throttle response.

Can i see a pic of the Mass Air flow thing you are talking about.

as for tuning it, I am having a buddy of mine who does tuning and is a GM certified tech do some tuning for me.

Nice, but damn those things are expenisive. Would using that without getting the air/fuel mixture tuned mess stuff up, or just let air flow better?

Shoot me pm. It will work as it is. The car it came off was not tuned. Tune will only help it.

Yeah, where did those come from?

Deggy
01-15-2008, 09:37 PM
customgrandam.com

you can buy them for like 10 bucks or something, but they give them away like business cards when something with your order goes wrong...like i ordered a blue one, they were out and sent a chrome one along with those inserts...i like them.

I had a 2000 GT and I eliminated the cat converter and put on a SLP cat-back. It woke it up quite a bit. The stock airbox on the GAGT robs power. I bypassed the air box and ran open mass-air for a pull and I gained 8 whp! Which I put down a max of 154 hp to the wheels. I dyno'd mine when I took it down to AMS for their dyno day/open house.

hey deggy i would do some research about mass air flow sensors for your car. your prolly have the same mass air flow as lt1's if my memory serves me right, i could be wrong. just desreen the MAF. the thing im not sure about is how easy it is to tune with that MAF. F bodies dont like aftermarket MAF's. just do some research before you buy it thats all im saying. nice wheels btw!

If I remember right Deggy that CAI is a PITA to put in... I helped my old roommate put his in...

Deggy, you can do better than the fuzions.....they are by far the worst performance tire that I have ever owned, and I should of learned my lesson with them when I had a few close calls getting onto the freeway in cool weather with my vert........no traction when it is cold.....

Performance Tires + Cold Weather = Bad

I had PZero Rossos on my Mustang at one point and they were close to useless at temps under 35 degrees... But that's not what they're made for...

The LS1 maf plugs right in yes... however its larger ID and calibrated for an LS1... The trims will go cowshit as will performance by installing an LS1 maf w/o tuning for it. Besides that dog paw sized TB is gonna be the main restriction, not the maf.

Since you will being it at FS in waukesha, do you knowJason Meyer?

Hmmm yeah i will have to do some research.

i had a cheap 2 peice intake on before, but the thing was garbage. I know how to put them in really easy now.

What is wrong with the stock MAF again?

Deggy
01-16-2008, 01:02 PM
Whats wrong with mine...or just whats wrong with them in general....nothing is wrong with mine, if it was a gereral question, they are screened and i guess running one without the screen gives better air flow.

BAD LS1
01-16-2008, 01:11 PM
The screen straightens airflow through the maf for more accurate readings, guys will remove the screen to "lean" it out because it will generate altered readings. Id look into replacing that TB that i can plug with a quarter with something ported or whatever before replacing the stock maf or descreening it.

Deggy

I will do some research, thanks Tom.

x2 for TB. youd rather spend money on something that will do something rather than buying a maf.

That's correct. What's wrong with a pull without an air filter?

I wasn't sure if it was just for the dyno or if you left it that way. Nice gain though :thumbsup
