Girlfriends car has been leaking coolant for about 2 weeks sometimes its worse then others. She ALWAYS fills the coolant up but she hasen't driven it for a while I CAN'T figure out where/what this is leaking from.

Also if anyone wants to come over and look at it or fix it let me know. It's a 98 VR6 Jetta.

If it started two weeks ago I'd agree with the above.

It started just leaking but the car is fine as long as it's full. No knock, or power loss or anything like that. Just a leaking of coolant. She has bought i'd geuss 3 or 4 things of Coolant since Mid December? but other then that everything seems to be ok on it?

Yeah Deggy she is planning on gettin a newer A4. But there is a catch she needs to sell this first so i figured little shit should get fixed on the car before she sells it.

You have a LIM (lower intake manifold) problem, oh wait...that was me when I was leaking coolant and getting coolant in my oil.....

hope you figure out whats going on Flick...hate to see the car formerly known as the Pink Zebra go...I got dibs on the wheels, if it does go.

Yeah, I would say it is a freeze plug or the block is cracked...eigther way expensive fix....Had a 3.1 Z-24 that had that same problem.....you can slow it down with a little bars leaks (hell it slowed it down for a long time actually....) but it is not worth fixing.

I have been ding some searching online and found out that there is this thing the dubbers call a "Crackpipe" that are made of plastic that are prone to crack, and it's right about where this leak is.

here is a link to it.
It sounds like it is going to be a PITA. so if anyone wants to do it? hint hint.

/\ Nope not yet. I'm 99.9% Sure it's comin from the T-stat housing or the "Crackpipe" Coolant pipe. Gonna be taking it apart this weekend.
