so my pile of crap saab is acting crazy again.... when i go above 3k rpms it starts acting like its hitting a rev limiter or something...just goes batatatatatatatatata and wont accelerate at all....it runs fine at idle and anything below like 3k but if i hit the gas and it jumps up in rpms it just goes ape shit and wont move? any ideas? thanks

There are so many things that can go wrong on one of those. YOur best bet is to find someone with a scanner.

I take it that your check engine light is on.

yeah its been on since i got it..lol..but it ran great til now...

Try saablink.net There are alot of knowledgable guys on there...

Also, take it to autozone and get it scanned... See what's throwing off the CEL..

oh man.... good luck with getting repairs. alot of places dont even try to work on those things.

they are very touchy with vaccum leaks

check the air filter. mine acted just like this and something got caught in the tb.

autozone said it has to be a 96 or newer for them to scan....

Hrmm, ok... OR... If you need to call someone.. Larry at Country Imports (Larry the Saab Guy) is super friendly and very knowledgable... 920-625-2298...

One of my friends recomended him as the "best around" and said he's very reasonable for pricing...

N/A.....i'm hoping to avoid taking it in...the car isnt worth what it will cost to fix..lol

I was gonna say, come over and ill scan it with my scan tool...but then you said its not 96 or newer. Good luck getting it fixed, hope its not to costly. Hopefully its what Yoo said and something just got stuck in the tb.

checked and that all is normal.....

that is a possibility...my moms santa fe had a similar prob and it was the cat

Yes! That's what my Wrangler did when it needed a cat... I couldn't do over 35mph....

well the check engine light went off and has been off for 2 days...but car still does it...gonna hack at it this week:)

I'd bet the coil packs. Your best bet is to go on a Saab forum and ask around. A group of enthusiasts will know all the major issues and quirks with those cars.
