According to poster jmk2888 at the EvolutionM.net forums, the car you see here is indeed the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart. The poster, who indicates that he works for Mitsubishi in California, says that the car was in the lot briefly but is now "on the way to an auto show." Funny, we happen to be going to an auto show next week, so let's assume the Lancer Ralliart's on its way to Detroit for its official unveiling.

According to the jmk2888, here are the pertinent stats. To be safe, treat everything as speculation for now until we get official info from Mitsubishi:

230 - 240 turbocharged horsepower
AWD
5-speed manual gearbox or Twin Clutch SST (http://www.autoblog.com/2007/07/10/mitsubishi-releases-details-on-s-awc-and-twin-clutch-sst/) available
Recaro front seats
Gunmetal-finish Lancer GTS wheels
GTS rear wing
Nav system available In front, the Ralliart gets a unique fascia dominated by a large (but not Evo X-large), chrome-rimmed grille opening. At the top right section of the grille itself, you can see the telltale Ralliart badge. According to the poster, the car in the photo is painted in the orangey-red "Sunset Pearlescent" finish that's currently available on the Eclipse. He also states that there's Ralliart branding on the rear of the car, and some other posters have noted that this car appears to be equipped with the same HID headlamps as the Evo X. Assuming it's going to be in Detroit, expect complete details and many photos of Mitsu's new Subaru WRX competitor early next week.

Too me i think that is the 2009 Evo X...because look at the front grill...looks like an intercooler to me.

Nope, it's the Lancer Ralliart, which is also turbo/awd, just less HP.

That color is horrid, I'd sooo take one in white or black :drool:

i skimmed over it...i saw that, but was confused because i didn't know the ralliart was turbocharged too... oh well :goof

Same as the Impreza/WRX/WRX STI setup.

You now have a midrange turbo option like the base WRX.

they are hatches but still have 4 doors.....

i think subaru did that to get away from the Evo vrs WRX, but now Mitsu wants to keep the battle going, by making a midrange AWD/Turbo car.

On the wrx you can still get a sedan version...on the STi's, it must be the 5 door hatch.

As far as the lancer ralliart, I'd rock it in a heartbeat. I think that while distinct looking and featuring sharp angles, it is a handsome car. I like that it's fairly understated versus the evo's.

This to me is simply a much better looking dodge caliber SRT (they use the same engine essentially) just with awd and is much better looking. Sure, it features less HP, but oh well...still be pretty darn quick.

these new Lancers in general are really nice cars! I applaud Mitsu for doing a nice job on it. The interior is very handsome also

Sure, it features less HP, but oh well...still be pretty darn quick.

Nothing bigger injectors, boost controller, and a 3" turbo-back can't fix :D

I'd imagine they will be very mod-friendly.

I think it must be an age thing, cause I just cannot get into those cars at all. Can't stand the Subaru's either. I understand they perform well, but to me they just look ridiculous.

I wonder what the real differences are with this and the EVO. I know you guys where talking about the WRX vs the STI but with the STI you get a 2.5 versus a 2.0. So this might be on the same lines.

The newer wrx's are also 2.5. You get alot more then power as a upgrade with the STI vs WRX.
