Well, there's another embargo blown. HUMMERForums (http://www.hummerforums.com/m_118410/tm.htm) dropped all the images they had of the HUMMER HX concept that was due to be officially unveiled in a scant five days, and Jalopnik followed suit. So here it is, HUMMER's Wrangler-competitor in concept form, complete with a 3.6-liter SIDI E85 FlexFuel engine which sends power to all four wheels via a six-speed auto 'box. The HX is technically a convertible, meaning that the roof panels and modular rear can open or be stowed, while the interior instruments can be reconfigured depending on the type of driving you'll be doing. All the details are available in the press release after the jump.

I like how it looks but it needs more power. Also, i think I liked the Jeep Hurricane concept more... Twin Hemi, 4 wheel steering........ To Bad it will never become reality but if it does, ill be on that waiting list....

that is some insane technology.

it does wicked donuts :thumbsup but more practically the zero turning radius does has application for more severe off road use and conditions....albeit probably with an oil burner and not a hemi powering it :rolf

Mopar has been using the Hemi in everything lately, but not this?

in a real world application with that steering system..... ie military forestry etc. it is usually more economical to have a diesel

Yes, that is the hurricane.

A diesel would never be an option, not with locking diffs and 4 wheel steering for the same reason that the powerwagon is not offered with a diesel, Locking diffs, traction and torque = lots of broken parts.

The hurricane needs a hydrostatic drive system with a motor on each wheel. That would be one hell of a rock crawler.

I like all of that space above the wheel well on the HX. Lots of clearance for hard landings. Kinda reminds me of a Warthog from Halo.
