Oh good. I just looked at the Doppler Radar and that's what it shows too. And luckily, I don't work until 3rd shift tonight so I can stay put until it all goes away!

Isn't it kind of unusual to have tornado warnings in winter? Or thunderstorms this time of year?

This warm air we have today:
Thunderstorms develop in warm, moist air in advance of eastward-moving cold fronts. These thunderstorms often produce large hail, strong winds, and tornadoes. Tornadoes in the winter and early spring are often associated with strong, frontal systems that form in the Central States and move east. Occasionally, large outbreaks of tornadoes occur with this type of weather pattern.

Wussies, When hurricane charlie hit I was out playing in it. Then I drove my car downtown to shelter with no wiper blades and rain coming down sideways.

just got off the phone with my brother who lives in Kenosha..he was standing on his porch as the tornado passed by within a couple of miles. He said he thought he was dreaming (just woke up, works 3rd shift Kenosha PD) and didnt think it was real.
Unbelievable weather!!! Hope nobody was killed or seriously injured in this...unlike those caught up in the deadly "fog pileup" in Madison yesterday.
