Kyle and I finally got the correct mounts for the engine and got our transmission this week. So today we got the engine in. No modifying of the cross member. everything fits perfectly. I'm ordering up stainless to start the fabrication of the headers. I have 14 inches from the edge of the cylinder head to where im going to mount the radiator. Should have plenty of room to fit everything

The old thread is lost so ill be picking up here

Just a few more pictures, Next weekend will be a fun weekend, exhaust tubing and more parts will be showing up. Today I was able to get the trans cross member in place. I just used the original and modified it to fit in the new location. It needed to get moved back about 3 inches.
I also finally got the radiator inside the core support. I'm going to need as much room as i can up front so, Thats inside and the fans are on the outside of the core support. I'll have to get new blades for the fan so that they push instead of pull.

no real secret, only secret was not posting about the turbos til we had them. Thats just more fun :)

forged 370,

diamond -13cc pistons
scat rods ARP200 bolts
stock crank
ARP main studs
polished #317 heads

Well,

The cold weather has returned and so has the S10 project. I started to box in the frame tonight. We worked on the firewall a little. Picking up the engine this weekend.

Things that have changed at this point are. The engine specs, The lack of turbo's, and from a T56 to a Turbo 350, possibly Turbo 400. Kyle wants the truck running by spring. So we are planning on running it NA right now, and driving it, enjoying it, and most of all get everything wired out. Then come next winter we can add more parts to the engine for more power:thumbsup Here's some pictures and of course more to come.

So I got those installed and massaged the block and bell housing in a few areas to provide ample clearance. fit the engine and headers onto the frame and got the cab on with clearance there too. Cut the motor plates and got the fitted. Shot over to work and machined the plates to clean up the cuts and remove the excess material that was not needed :thumbsup Tommorow I'm hoping to weld my brackets to the frame and mount the motor plates to the frame.

This past week/weekend Kyle and myself have..............

I made up a new trans crossmember so i have clearance for the exhaust.

The rear axles were drilled for Chevy 4.75 bolt pattern. Also reinstalled

Engine has been buttoned up and finally sealed up. I used a burr on the block to hopefully seal the motor plate to the block better. Added a little bead hopefully. Fingers crossed.

Mounted the trans cooler, Mounted it to the bottom of the box, kept it in the back to keep the engine bay cleaner

Changed the name on the intake elbow:thumbsup

found the location for the fuel cell, cut the bed for the sump, and fittings. Fuel system should be ordered this week

Also tried Kyles FIKSE's on the back, 17x11 315/35-17 tires. Fit perfectly!

With the TB on we were able to shorten the length of the cable to make it look a little more professional and cleaner. I then made a few parts at work to make the stock cable still work. We also pulled the carpet, seats, and rollbar out of the truck, cleaned the interior up and tossed some dynamat on the floor where the exhaust will be. Still need a few pieces to finish the whole floor.

Fuel system shipped friday so I'm excited to get that in and start plumbing that bastard!! I'm sure I'll post pictures:thumbsup

VSI is a mother fucker to get in with. Brad haggled with those guys for months, they ended up sending a rep to his shop before they would give him an account. Apparently they get tons of people that try to open accounts that claim to have shops and a large customer base but are really just people working out of there garage on there own shit and they will still give those people accounts but they charge them a huge buy in fee.

We truned it over today just to make sure the engine harness works. It works! Just need to finish wiring everything else up got at good start on the gauges today with a few miller lites helping me out. As long as we get a few of the fuel fittings we need this week. I would say by the weekend it could or should be alive.

Got the fuel system installed and ready. Found out the stock engine harness we received back was missing some connectors so its headed back to get fixed. Adding another 2 weeks until it cranks over.... Still plenty to do until then

Jeff did you use pushlock fittings? It looks like it but im not sure... I used them on Josh's corvette, they are a pain in the ass to get seated!!!! Heat gun and wd40 does wonders!!!!

some are pushloc fittings and some are the BIGEND screw on fittings. It will work this year. I'm sure next year will change the fittings around

If there installed correctly there more then sufficiant for most applications and alot cheaper.... I tried to blow them off at work with our HP air system. There aeroquip hose and fittings i used were rated to 250psi, line was still holding at 350psi and I stopped there.... Considering they will never see more then 90psi of fuel pressure in the application I used them i cant imagine they would ever be a issue.

Lookin really good!

Looks good guys!

Sorry if this comes off bad, but I don't believe the truck will pass tech with the FPR on the firewall like that. I don't know the exact rule, but I am pretty sure there is a set distance it has to be away from the firewall.

Looks like your right!!!

Fuel block, pressure regulator and NOS solenoids must be mounted no less than 6 inches from firewall.

son of a bitch, I was try to keep a symmetrical look for the fuel lines. now i'll have to look into changing the location of the FPR

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, I just figured it is better to know now rather than in the tech line at the track.

Why don't you just re-mount the regulator in the front of the motor? Maybe make a bracket off of a couple of water pump/front cover bolts or off that valley cover?

I know mines carbed and my motor plate is one piece, but you can get the idea. All you would have to do is extend your return line and shorten up the return lines off the rails.
