Can't really say to much but I was stationed on Camp Stanley for one year and K-16 Airbase for another. I loved Korea and hope to go back someday. The food is great, the scenery is amazing, and its a great experience. Just hope to take the wife with me next time I go.

Yes its funny to because all the chairs on the N. Korea side are higher

History lesson for ya- They did that so when sitting & the south was seated also, they'd look more imposing looking 'down' on them. Lyndon Johnson had all his chairs the same way.

Hehe I know :) another thing you'll notice is the towers outside. N. Korea built all theres higher than the S. Korea side. Just like the city right outside the DMZ. They have binoculars you can use to zoom in on the city. Even with his "fake" people living there it still looks like a ghost town.

Also something we couldn't take pics of, was one of the many tunnels. It's cool because you can go right to the dmz underground. Where theres a HUGE metal wall it looks like a bank vault door.

so did you go down in the 3rd tunnel??? i was there back in 03 I think it was for a month for work and stayed at the Grand Intercontinental Hotel in Seoul. I took the DMZ tour and I did the walk down into the 3rd tunnel and what a workout. I didn't have a camera with me so I just used yours to remember what it was like....thanks.

as you said the food and scenery was great and the people were very friendly....can you imagine looking up and seeing a 6' tall white guy with hair down to his ass, and a goatee walking down your street in Korea....he he. yeah I stuck out a bit!!
