There are some really cool places to go in Arizona that aren't to far away from the phoenix area. Where are you located exactly? Here are a few places I went to when I wast there last summer. (120 degrees out) insane hot.

Roosevelt Lake (manmade resevoir. they built this huge bridge like 10 years ago, very cool) Roosevelt Dam. Added 300 feet a few years ago, you can see the old and new in the pics.
