I believe RRA is Rock River Arms I've heard of superior but not sure if they're a big name or not. I haven't done an AR-15.... yet:rolf

most of the million AR-type lowers are forged in a few facilities and machined elsewhere....most should be good

If you can get those without having to pay shipping and a FFL transfer fee for $100, that is a great deal. RRA and Superior are both great lowers and generaly sell for $110 (before shipping and transfer fee).

I've seen AR lowers at the gunshows around here for $100-120. One of the few deals to be found there anymore. The $30 C&R pays for itself the first time you don't spend $160+ on a mosin your can buy for $69 from the wholesalers :banana1:

:rolf My nomination for Post of the Year! :rolf

The license allows you to get a dealer discount with most companies. It also allows you to purchase firearms on the C+R list (most firearms over 50 yrs old and some newer collectable ones) and have them sent directly to your home instead of going through a FFL and paying their fee. It's for collecting, not buying and selling rifles or making money. You are required to keep a book with all C+R purchases to track them. I think the license costs $30 these days.

I'm sure that's what he was trying to get at! :rolf

Kinda sorta. You can order the applicaton from the BATF's site. fill it out send one copy to the ATF w/$30 and the other to your CLEO. Wait a month or so, and you too can say goodbye to extra money:rolf

A C&R is an FFL. It is a Federal Firearms Licence (FFL) for Collecting Curios & Relics (C&R).

I believe it is form 7CR on the ATF.gov website under "forms". real easy and i recomend it to anyone remotely interested to do it. you will be glad you did

It'll usually pay for itself in the first purchase or two, the only problem is controlling the wants:rolf

This is the next best deal out there. Essential Arms lowers are made by Superior. They're the same thing from the same company with different names stamped on them.

I am building an AR for a buddy right now with one of these lowers, it's a pretty good deal for a quality lower.
