Here is a COBRA in final assembly....I remember that I took a COBRA to a young BOSSLX's ( I'm his uncle ) middle school to pick him up !

They had a waiver from the feds for a while to not meet crash tests , after that waiver time ran out it was over.....Those cars would NEVER have met any crash testing I'm 100% certain of that....

We built one with a 32 V 4.6 DOHC Cobra Mustang engine in it....it also had IRS......I drove it before it was complete with just bare minimal parts and no body and lemme tell you that fugger moved good .....prolly weighed 2000 lbs. if that....felt like a freakin powerfull go cart !

LINE DROP 5.0 / T-5 powertrain......" Line drops " are 99% COMPLETE powertrains on the Ford assmebly " line" just before they "drop" into the cars ...All of the engines we used came right from Fords engine factory in " line drop " form...

They were low 50,s MSRP...They were build " first class " as far as body and details go though.....Excal had some sorta deal from Ford to buy engines....They were VERY CHEAP IIRC , around $3500.00 for the brand new engine and trans , wiring and mass air....The 4.6 32 V DOHC / T56 " line drops " were only $5500 !

Notta bad deal for all new stuff !

Correct...I watched the wrecking crew " knock down " the building to make way for Allied Pool.....It was sorta sad to see the building come down....I liked working there....

Yes, I have never met her but, I have heard of her quite a bit....A while back she wanted me to " look over " some Excalibur parts to see if I could tell her what cars they were for....I worked on Cobras only and most of the stuff was for the Limited and other stuff I did not build.....I do know the " where abouts " of the original Cobra build team I was on.....I work with 3 of them at the Harley factory now...
